100 Yen ShopPosted on May 29th, 2008 @ 11:06 pm

The 100 Yen shops are just like our dollar store here.. but of course 100 Yen is about a 89 cents here. It sells a wide range of products .. for 105 Yen per item.. and everything.. i mean everything in the store. 5 Yen is for consumption tax. It’s a great store for both local.. and travelers.. on a budget.
They are just about at every corner in Japan. From multi storey stores.. to corner stores in the malls and expanding rapidly. Check out the 100Yen store Daiso Harjuku in Takeshita Dori which is said to be one of the biggest. They do have alot of awesome stuff.. and i did buy alot here.. for souvenirs and even food home.

LA Criminal LawyersPosted on May 29th, 2008 @ 5:56 pm
The Japanese are very nice folks.. but when they go on vacation, they go very wild too… and i kid you not. You should see those demure girls.. turn into party gals.. and we all know how drinking and driving plus partying can sometimes get us into trouble that we don’t want to.
So if you are anything like my japanese friend.. turning wild on vacation, a good Criminal Attorneys Los Angeles | Southern California DUI, Felony, Misdemeanor Lawyers for reference is good to keep in handy. You never know when you need an aggressive team to get you out of trouble eh.

Cher In Las VegasPosted on May 27th, 2008 @ 7:48 pm
I grew up watching Cher in movies and one of the very first movie that I had watched with her in it was Witches of Eastwick with Jack Nicholson. I fell in love with her of course.. and have been a real fan of hers for the longest time. I think i love her looks alot..!!
I was really looking forward to a trip to Las Vegas for a convention we planned to attend in September.. because seeing Cher Las Vegas live would be a dream come true for me. Unfortunately, they changed the venue for this year’s convention.. and i am going to missed it afterall.
But for those living in the US or near Las Vegas, I recommend that you see Cher in Caesar Palace. Her performance starts in May 2008 and she is taking over the stage after Celine Dion’s contract ends. I hear that her show in Vegas is going to be a all new show featuring 18 dancers and aerialist with new Bob Mackie costumes. And if you know the Cher that I do.. you will expect some very dazzling costumes and performance, plus lots of special effects.
There will be only 4 shows per week at 7.30pm and will run for an initial 1 month, so don’t miss it .. if you are fans of Cher. But no worries .. because come August, she will return for more performance. I am still hoping that we can hop over to Las Vegas before the end of her performance… because I’ve always wanted to see Cher perform live. Tickets are available for booking from now right up to October I see, so I am hopeful.

OmuRicePosted on May 27th, 2008 @ 7:27 pm

OmuRice was one of the first japanese meal that i had taken. At that time i was yet a student.. so with only very little money. For $5.50 .. i get rice filled with my favourite mushrooms.. chicken pieces.. and of course tomato ketchup.. on my omelet ! yums..!! It was filling and for a poor student.. it was a life saver. OmuRice is easy to cook at home. It is actually like making an omelet except we have rice in it.
Here’s the recipe :
Ingredients:
2 cups cooked rice
2 chicken tenderloins (can leave out or substitute another protein or veggies)
1 cup diced vegetables (I used almost 3/4 cup of onion, then filled up the rest of the cup measure with red and yellow bell peppers and thinly sliced green beans)
1 tsp. canola oil
Cooking spray
1/2 tbsp. sake
2 tbsp. ketchup, plus some for garnish
salt, to taste
2-3 eggs per omelet (the rice amount above is good for at least 2 good-sized omuraisu)
Way to Cook it:
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the vegetables and stir-fry, about 2 minutes. Add the chicken and stir-fry until opaque and cooked through.
- Add the rice and mix into the ingredients, breaking up any clumps. Add the ketchup and continue cooking, mixing until the ketchup is well-distributed. Add the sake and salt to taste. Once well-combined, take the rice off the heat.
- Break eggs into a small bowl, then beat about 10 times with a fork (for ultimate fluffiness).
- Lightly spray a frying pan (large enough to hold your omelet) with cooking spray, then pour in the eggs, tilting the pan to cover the bottom of the pan. You want a thin omelet, but strong enough not to break when it is wrapped around the rice.
- Once the eggs set, lower the heat, then add rice in a line down the middle and slightly to one side. Fold the “long” end over the rice, and then roll the omelt towards the “short” end. The ends of the omuraisu should be tucked underneath and look like your average omelet on top. Most omuraisu I have seen look like little football-shaped burritos, but I made mine more cylindrical to fit in the bento box better.
- If you’re eating your omuraisu right away, slide it onto a plate and top it with a nice big dollop of ketchup. If you’re bento-ing, then place it in the box, but save the ketchup topping for later.

Sakura BentoPosted on May 27th, 2008 @ 6:02 pm

This is awfully cute ..! the color is nice.. and so is the sakura print on it. This bento box is traditionally designed and high quality bento from Japan. Two tiered lunch box, with glittering sakura flowers on the lid and a matching colored elastic belt to keep everything together. I liked the the bento is light pink in color.. and not those glaring pink. This bento box is microwavable .. awesome for those who have late lunches like us. At $18.50, definitely affordable and something i would buy.
