Pachinko

If you have never heard of Pachinko .. then you’ve never been to Japan because anywheres that you go in Japan .. there are Pachinko Parlour just about everywhere you turn. And it’s open 24hrs a day .. 365 days a year.. i believe. Pachinko rules in Japan… it’s in abundance.

Very much like the slot machines in the West, Pachinko is obsessively played by Japanese. I don’t quite understand the game myself.. because if you ain’t a Japanese .. and walked into a Pachinko palour.. you will get stared at… big time. Pachinko is an arcade style game, a cross between a pinball machine and a video game machine. Players do not win any money but they can win a number of nic naks and prizes. Gambling is an offense in Japan, therefore no cash is involved.

I cannot understand the addiction but lots of ppl are in Japan. Some are even there lining up before the Pachinko parlour opens in the morning.. and can spend the whole day there. It wouldn’t be hard to find one anywheres in Japan .. even in the countryside.. there is at least a few Pachinko Pa lour around. Look out for the ugliest building with flashy lights and neon signs, you can’t missed it.

To get around the gambling laws in Japan, Pachinko parlor comes normally with a thrift shop in the next building where the winners can exchange their winnings for cash by selling their prize.
