Japanese Men & Izakaya

It is funny that with Japanese men and women who loves drinking so much.. they don’t have their private bars in their homes.. or bar sinks in their basement.  They rather spend their after hours in a Izakaya, a small drinking hole/snack bar near home or near the office.  Maybe they don’t want to go home to look after their kids.. and do housework eh..?

Red Lobster, Odaiba

Yes..! i kid you not.. they do have several Red Lobster in Japan.. and the one i’ve been to is Odaiba… just across the bay from Tokyo.   Don’t forget the Cinabon for dessert while you are there.  Daily lunch is at 850Yen.. about $8.50 Canadian.  Aweseome eh..!

It wasn’t an awesome meal.. but it was alright.

Pets & The Japanese Kids

It is not often that one can take care of a pet.. if you lived in Japan. Not only do the folks in Japan work hard.. and long hours.. they also spend alot of time.. with their co-workers after work. Children are often left in the care of their wives.. who are usually housewives.. and pets are not often gotten for the kids because of the limited space in their apartments. Pet beds are of course a must for those who do have pets, that way dogs and cats can have a place to call their own.. and are trained to sleep and rest in it . .and not their couches.. or beds.  I know that my japanese friends do love their pets if they do buy them. and they even dressed them up on occasions, it is just sad that not everyone can have a pet because of space limitations.

Smart Friends

Some of my Japanese friends has got to be the smartest people i know. Knowing that it is hard to own your own property in Japan, they invest in Wilmington NC real estate. For the amount they pay in investing in these properties, which is definitely alot cheaper and affordable, they can either use it as a vacation home or even seek to relocate.  The American dream is what alot of my Japanese girlfriends look forward to.

Koban

Need help..while you are in Japan..?? Have no fear..! all you need to do is to look for a police box.. or what they called in japanese a Koban. There are Kobans everywhere in Tokyo.. and they are mostly located at any major intersection and near train stations. If you can see a sign for Koban .. no problem.. look for a circled X on any maps.. and you will find them.

I am wondering if they can converse in English or not..?? because most of my japanese friends.. are not fluent.. even though English is one of the subjects in school. I never ever had to use one .. so i wouldn’t know.

Handy Man They Are Not

Out of the 10 Japanese men that I know.. 5 are not really handy man at all.  I think they are so much into geeky stuff.. and some are extremely into music .. they just don’t do alot of renovation at their home.  Well, given most of the work is done by the landlord.. so they don’t have to do anything.  One time, I had gone out with a male colleague.. and he was out buying a Cat5e Keystone jack and I had asked him what they were for.. and he couldn’t explained it to me.  Well.. apparently, he was just running an errand for his brother in law.. who was fixing something in his father in law’s house.

StarBucks Japan

Frankly speaking… i think only Starbucks Japan has maccha frappucino. But i do like it.. it’s green tea milk shake with cream topping. At 440 yen of a 12 oz.. it’s quite expensive eh…? It has a Uji Maccha fragrance as soon as i sipped it. Anyone knows of anywhere else.. they have maccha frappucino..??

Japanese Sticker Machines

You know those japanese photo taking sticker machines that are so popular in Asia.. but never came to the West .. as far as i know. Now if only we can get a home based business for it.. and bring it to Canada… in this small town.. i bet we will be making some big bucks.

Japanese Girls Are Practical

Yes..!! the japanese girls are not only beautiful and fashionable.. ! they are very practical.. when it comes to buying clothes, shoes and handbags.  Different shoes for different occasions but they must be comfortable and beautiful as well.  Cost is not a problem.. as they believe that quality products like Beautifeel will last a long time thus worth spending the money.  So if you want to go shopping bring your japanese girlfriends along.

Design Festa, Harajuku Japan

One of the places we had visited .. with our arty - farty girlfriend was Design Festa .. in Harajuku… the famous stylish street in Tokyo Japan. This art gallery is run by some local artists .. you can find some shows shown on different intervals of the day. When we first show the exterior of the building.. it was quite interesting donch you think..?? The building actually shows the bohemian nature of art. It was interesting.. but surely looks abit messy to me.
