For The Love Of Flowers

Japanese friends of mine love sending flowers to me - whenever we are celebrating a special occasion.   But they sure know where to save a lot on flowers here - because I feel so bad every time they send me flowers - but they told me of these coupons that you can get online.  So now whenever I want to send flowers I know where to get good and cheap ones - delivered on time and awesome looking gifts.  Now I know the secret of why Japanese friends love sending flowers to me on special occasions - they do put a big smile on my face every time i received them.

Magazines In Japan

Do you know what I really missed of Japan - the gifts that comes with the magazines !  yes!  and they are not some cheap pouch that comes with the magazines but nice ones that one can use.  In all my years in Canada and the amount of magazines that I buy - I haven’t found one that gave out a tote or a pouch !  now that really suxs right!  look !  right now - they have this free PAUL & JOE SISTER when you buy a Steady magazine as per a local japan blog I follow - maybe I should suggest this to the magazines in this part of the world eh.

Mother’s Day 2011 In Japan

While the rest of the world gives roses to their mothers on Mother’s day - the Japanese gives carnations of all forms - cake, bento boxes and even candied carnations.  So what will be mothers day gifts 2011 for those in Japan - I asked the girlfriend residing in Japan now.  So this was what she said to me -  haha no hi is Mother’s Day in Japanese and she usually gives a red carnation to her mother-in-law and her spouse buys a scarf or a handbag for her.  As for me - i prefer practical gifts like a bracelet or a murano plate - you know something more substantial but flowers is a must of course - how can any mother resist flowers right?  my own mother insist we send roses to her work place during mother’s day - so that she can show off to her co-workers and friends - hahaha!

Petite Women In Japan

Fascinated by the petite women in Japan - my best friend from here asked me if the sensa reviews she read were for a fact.   You see she wanted to lose those extra pounds for ages now and when she saw how a friend she got to know in Japan who swears by sensa - she wanted my opinion on it too.  And yes, the Japanese ladies are a lot more petite than us - and you’ve really got to envy that - and not only they are petite - slim and beautiful - they do have nicer skin than us too.  Why is that so?  rumors has it that it’s the sashimi and the sushi they eat everyday - in fact - I love sushi and sashimi a lot too - but my skin and everything else don’t look like the Japanese woman - so if you’ve read about the Sensa reviews - please let me know how it worked out for you.

Aging Osaka

As I looked at an old picture of Osaka - I cannot but think of the aging society in Osaka and one of my best friend living there.  With the recent disaster in Japan - I must say that she is fairing really well.  Well, she looked pretty well - when we chatted on MSN video the other day - and I know she is still taking the  best hgh - as she puts it when I had said she looked really well.  The last time I was in Osaka - half the population there was aging - and it is no wonder the girlfriend insisted on taking supplements to look better daily instead of waiting till you get too old.  Good on her!  taking care of herself - we should all take care of ourselves regardless if we are having a tsunami or not eh.

Shopping In Japan For Beauty Products

Shopping in Japan for beauty products can actually tickle one - they do come out with the queerest  things - from tape and scrub for your  blackhead remover or lifting your lips product or for double eyelids - or no pain hair removal. Don’t get me wrong - they are cheap - and they are colorful and like every women out there - we did buy some to try.  Lets just say - I would want a better blackhead remover than the ones I got from Japan - but they were cute to have and cheap.  They also have this cheek guide that you can use to guide yourself when you are blushing your cheeks - pretty funny eh.

And the nose clip that claims that can lift up your nose - hahahah!!!  so yes! need blackhead remover - please check out the real stuff.

Conveyor Belt Sushi

Conveyor belt sushi is what i missed most about Japan and Asia  - I wished someone would bring this to our town.  I would definitely be going there everyday just like I did when I was home.  It’s not just the novelty - but food was good and cheap as well - and you don’t have to wait for your food.  And you know what ?  kids love the conveyor belt idea.  And I would be needing some pink magic that’s for sure - if they had this conveyor belt here - I would be eating a lot of it and putting on weight.  But I don’t care - if they had conveyor belt sushi here - I would eat first and take care of the weight later.

Kawaii Girls In Japan

My Canadian friend who is going to Japan to teach - asked me how he can get a Japanese girlfriend and asked me if all Japanese girls looked as kawaii and slim like her - or was it just an illusion that the press wants foreigner to think?   I told him that most Japanese girls that I know are pretty health conscious and more looks conscious - so I wouldn’t be surprised if they are onto fat burner reviews constantly to see which fat burners are the best.  Japanese girls are really, really concern about their skin - their body and their fashion sense is pretty impeccable.

I used to work with a Japanese girl in the hotel - when I was there for work and she would refused to eat - because she put on like 0.5kg - she would rather starve herself.  Well, until someone told her about using a good fat burner instead and exercising.  So yes!  if you are wondering and don’t want to sound too desperate - about looking for a kawaii Japanese girlfriend - you don’t have to worry - because the Japanese girls loved the American and the Canadians - as long as you are white - the loveee  it!

Hot Spring In Hokkaido

To get to the hot spring in  Hokkaido, you just have to take an hour and  35 mins train from 1h 35 min from Haneda to Asahikawa Airport.  And since we are already in Hokkaido - we might as well check out the hot spring at Sounkyo. We took the ropeway - just like everyone else - a kinda ski cable - but please don’t jump out before you reach mountain eh. The Sounkyo hot spring is just after the first mountain - you can’t missed it.

Christmas Gifts For Friends In Japan

While my girlfriend in Japan sent me these fried green buns for Christmas present - they are so yummy - air flown over and handed personally who was in Canada for business trip - I am getting some engraved gifts for her.  You see - this girlfriend of mine has just about everything and anything - and of course being in Japan what can you not get right?  so after thinking long and hard I decided to get her some personalized gifts - to show her how much I appreciate her friendship throughout the years.  I got her a silver plated mirror and a murano bracelet.  The reason why I thought about these gift was because the spouse had gotten me some “reasons I love you stones” last year - they were very special and spontaneous - and if ever I am mad with him - I look at these stones and everything don’t seems so important anymore.
