Twilight Cafe In Japan

So I hear there is a Twilight Cafe in Japan from the girlfriends - who were there in early September and they said it was only for a limited time.  Check it out here !  if you want can’t get any sleep at all from the show.  I heard that it was good and kinda disturbing at the same time.  I’m no fan of Twilight to be honest - but I know of some people who are crazy about it - from buying its book to going to the movies several times and then owning the DVD for the movie.   They even have Edward’s lines for the movie in Japanese - the girlfriends found out and the cafe is in Harujuku - check it out yourself if you are in the vicinity and a fan of Twilight.  Oh yes! they do serve food and drinks too - bonus!

Japanese Sitcoms

It is not only the japanese who loves the Japanese sitcom but my girlfriends who are permanent residence in Japan who are more fixated with them than any of her Japanese co-workers.  So fixated with catching the sitcoms on time and everyday - she had even forgotten that she had an appointment to take care of that acne on neck problem - she have had for weeks.

It was like two years ago - this sitcom was up for watching - the last friend i think it was.  So what was the fascination you might be asking right about now.  Well, like any sitcoms - it has it draws on certain people and Last Friends was one of the best drama I’ve watched made in Japan toady.   The story addresses issues which exist in modern society – Michiru is a young woman who starts getting bullied at work, but unfortunately after she decides to move into her boyfriend’s apartment she also becomes the victim of domestic violence. Ruka is Michiru’s friend since high school, but Ruka starts to become worried about her parents finding out about the truth of her sexuality as feelings for Michiru grow stronger. Takeru is also a friend of Ruka’s, however he also has stronger feelings for her but he has a phobia of sex as a result of a past trauma. The 3 eventually end up living together but how will their friendships end up? So if you are into Japanese sitcoms - check Last Friend out.

Susan Boyle Was In Japan

Oh boy! the best friend in Japan just told me that she saw Susan Boyle performed in Japan during the New Year celebration.  Now how could I have missed that one!  but Susan Boyle is definitely going places - i bet she didn’t think she would be traveling to Asia in this lifetime eh.  She did look good and seems very happy but she must be using the best under eye creams because she sure didn’t have those luggage under her eyes like the ones she had when she was in the singing contest.  She sang I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables in a NHK programme - which celebrated its 60th anniversary with the most popular singers of the year but most of the guests were Japanese.

J Pop Star Arrested For Indecency

Drunk and arrested for running naked in a public park at 3am in the morning.. and some ppl think that he shouldn’t be arrested..??  are they crazy..???  of course he should..!!!!  just because he is a pop star.. he doesn’t get the same treatment..?? what bullshit eh.  Narcotic or alcohol.. it’s still wrong for him to run around naked.. and if he got commercials and contract cancel.. that’s good isn’t it..?? that should teach him a lesson.

Candy Gals In Japan

No.. the japanese are not the only ones interested in candie dolls.. there are people from the States who orders them.. and have them shipped out to them.  I`ve seen some soldier doing stuff with the dolls.  But for $8.5K .. well.. it better look real.  If you`ve been to Orient Industries Candy Girl showroom, in Akihabara,  you will find loads of these dolls waiting to get inspected.

Wine

The wine of the month for me when i was living in Japan had to be plum wine.  Why you asked..?  A plum wine is a dessert wine or can be drank as an aperitif.  It goes with just about any Japanese meal if you ask me.  Japanese plum wine is made with white plums while they are still green and hard. Enjoy the fresh flavour of young plums! It is very refreshing. You can drink it straight like white wine, on the rocks, with soda or water, or even with warm water on a cold night! My favourite is drinking it straight with a small cube of ice before my meal. It enhances my apetite

Erika Sawajiri Married

Earlier last week .. i told everyone that Erika Sawajir is getting married.. well true to the announcement.. she did get married on the 19th Jan and looking very beautiful indeed.   The ceremony took place in Meiji Shrine and loads of fans were there to wish her well.. and she in return kept saying “Domo” .. meaning thanks.. in Japanese.  She was a beautiful bride alright.. but her media creator husband who is about 20 yrs her senior doesn’t look like the charming prince i would have hope for her.  Anyhow.. i some gals in Japan would die to look like Erika and my g/fs in Japan swears by Fentraphen to look slim and confident.  i wouldn’t mind taking some too.. if i could look like Erika eh..  :)

Yu Yamada - Playing School Girl One Last Time

At 24 Yu Yamada must be quite shy about playing a school gal for this long eh..?  I guess even though she didn’t complain about it.. i doubt she really liked it.  I bet her younger fans wouldn’t be too pleased .. but oh well… the older ones would love her in some more dramatic movie with more substance eh. So those younger fans of Yu Yamada.. can watch her in “Mei-chan no shitsuji”  airing  on Tuesdays at 9 p.m.
