Nature Walk In Tokyo

Many friends asked me where to go shopping for  external hard drive when they are planning for trips to Japan or where the best Ramen or sushi places they can go to, but rarely do people asked about taking nature walks or going hiking in Tokyo.  For those who are planning to stay in Japan for longer than a month - you must not miss taking in the sights and scenery one of the most beautiful nature walk in Tokyo - Mt Takao.   I was told that going during the late spring is the best because of the fresh and bright greenery and the many different kind of flowers you can find there.  It is also the best weather to go for hiking.

Toyota Showroom In Tokyo

Love the Toyota showroom in Tokyo.. and if you are ever in Tokyo.. you have to go see the showroom.  Going into the showroom is free, you can even test drive the latest model.. but was told that one has to make booking or arrangements way in advance.  There are all sorts of cars - from family vans to sports and convertible, plus buy all your car accessories there. I was there when they had that opening ceremony for the display at Toyota Universal Design Showcase in 2004. Toyota and Matsushita opened the biggest showroom in Japan, i was totally in awe.  So don’t forget to drop in at the Toyota Showroom, opens daily i heard.

Climb Fuji Mountain Cheap

Japan travel site JAPANiCAN.com has begun accepting reservations for its 2-day climbing tours during the 2009 Mt Fuji climbing season. The official climbing season will begin in July and last through the end of August, during which time over 300,000 climbers are expected to attempt to reach Fuji’s peak. I was asked to bring  KVM switches for my fuji climb some 10 yrs ago.

Last year JAPANiCAN’s 2-day tours proved extremely popular, and the company hopes to increase this year’s sales with a 10% lower price, it said in a statement.

Climbers embarking on the 2-day tour will tackle Fuji’s slopes in the early afternoon, setting out from the 5th station. The tour’s price includes a rest at an 8th station lodge before beginning the final ascent and reaching Fuji’s summit in time to see the sun rise over Japan.

The tour also includes transportation by bus to and from Tokyo, and a chance to relax in a hot spring bath following the climb. The tour will cost 28,800 yen, and reservations are currently being accepted at JAPANiCAN’s English site.

Boating Supply Store

Many people may not know this but certain parts of Japan are actually fishing communities.  In Hokkaido alone I’ve seen so many places and fishermen and these people are very good at what they do.  I’ve had the freshest sushi there in Hokkaido and they are among the most hospitable people that I’ve ever met during my stay as an exchange student in Japan.

For them I wish i could have gotten them some boat accessories from American Marine Supply, they have just about anything that your boat might need.  Whether it is marine supplies or just fanciful accessories they have it all and for those people you can’t seem to buy for you can even get gift certificates.  Don’t miss out on their monthly specials as well; this month they have these inflatable canoes which are great for family camping trips.

Gym & Health Clubs In Japan

In Japan it is not cheap to join a health club or a gym, alot of ladies resort to having home gyms instead. But with the apartment so small, they have to really choose the right kind of equipment to suit their needs.  I know one of my japanese girlfriend who bought a too big size equipment.. and it wouldn’t fit her apartment.  Now that was a waste of money.

Whitewater Rafting

My first whitewater rafting experience was in Japan’s biggest river - Minakami Onsen in Gunma Prefecture.  The river provided a consistent grade 4 rapids for over 12kms of whitewater rafting bliss.  But now that I am in living in the west, going to Japan for my whitewater rafting adventures may not be so feasible.

But I hear that Pocono whitewater rafting is more exhilarating and fun than the ones in Japan.  For those like me living in the West, it is definitely good news to know that there are two locations for just that.. Pennsylvania and New York. They have the right prices, right location and the best deals. Whether you are on your maiden trip or an experienced rafter, they have just the right package for you and yours.
